Every Duckbill member is unique, like you! We’re built for that.
While our team is excellent at finding our way around most problems, there are a few boundaries on what our team can and can’t do - some of them are carved out with your safety and security in mind, and we really appreciate you trusting us.
If you’re not sure whether we can help, ask us anyway. If we can’t do it ourselves, we’ll let you know - and more often than not, we’ll still help you find a solution. When in doubt, just try us.

Is there anything you can’t do?
In-person tasks:
We’ll always find someone who can assist to your (and our!) standards or find solutions that we can coordinate remotely!
Our dedicated, remote team can handle a multitude of tasks, but there are some requests, such as tasks that require being in-person and onsite, that we’re not equipped to execute.
This can include:
Sending mail
Wrapping your holiday gifts
Event assistance
Dropping off or picking up items
Complex tasks that would typically require a professional to complete:
While our copilots excel at personal tasks, some highly specialized tasks may be better suited for a pro.
This includes:
Preparing any legal documents (wills, permits, taxes)
Selling your home or car
Project managing your renovation
Advanced graphic design (like formatting or proofreading a novel)
Planning a full-on wedding
We’re also not set up for advanced database or spreadsheet builds, email or social media management, or tasks that require daily or hourly monitoring.
But, we can find, vet and connect you with the right professionals to get it done. (We know the best lawyers, accountants, travel agents, realtors, contractors and wedding planners.)
Your job, or your homework, your money!
If you need referrals to freelancers, full-service agencies, or tutors, we’ve got you covered.
Schoolwork & Jobs
We’re not set up to support your business, do your job for you, apply to jobs for you, and please don’t ask us to do your homework! This includes design and content creation.
Money, banking & card safety
If you’re selling items, we’re happy to help you prep everything - but we can’t manage or monitor online sales (eBay, Poshmark, etc.). We can still help you post them and offer tips to get the most out of your items.
We cannot help with any requests that requires storing or using full bank account or credit card numbers. This includes interacting directly with banks or credit card providers.
Debt collection is beyond our capabilities as well.
Explicit, illegal or unethical asks:
If it’s against the law or moral code, we can’t touch it. We can’t handle sensitive HIPAA-protected medical data or procure illegal substances, and we may refuse to engage with explicit, violent, or graphic content.
We also cannot impersonate you for anything.
Large and/or international transactions:
We’ll execute transactions on your behalf up to $2,500. For anything larger, we’ll still do the research, find options, and build your cart — but you’ll need to complete the final checkout.
We also reserve the right to decline international (non-USD or non-US-based) transactions at our discretion, but we’ll always help you find the simplest way to complete them yourself.
Sensitive Tasks:
Requests with sensitive information
Some services, like medical providers, stores, and social media platforms, use strict security protocols that may prevent us from accessing your accounts. They have your security in mind, just like us! But don’t fret; we have systems locked down! We’re always ready to loop you in at critical junctures to ensure everything flows smoothly while still taking the task off your plate.
We’re also not able to file documents, permits, or other filings on your behalf with a government agency, like the IRS or law enforcement.
Requests for your health and family
We're here to put your health first and make sure you have a support team for preventative and reactive care.
We’re not able to:
Provide medical advice or diagnosis
Relationship mediation
Assist with insurance underwriting
Recommend or screen childcare, caregiving, or coordinate unofficial transportation
Handle emergency tasks or emergency decision-making for you
Political Lobbying:
If you need information on how to engage yourself or want referrals to professionals, we’re happy to help.
We cannot engage in political lobbying or advocacy on your behalf - including contacting government officials, campaigning, or attempting to influence political decisions.
We’re also not able to help solicit donations.
Work in a disrespectful space:
Our members and team are without doubt Duckbill’s greatest strength, and we work hard to keep this a positive, helpful, valuable, and mutually respectful space.
We reserve the right to remove individuals from the community if they don’t meet these standards. If we ever can’t fulfill a request or continue a membership, we’ll let you know through the app or directly via email.
