DAY ONE
8:00am: Officially off my parents’ insurance. Also officially unsure how taxes, health plans, or budgeting apps work. I am not ready for this level of adulthood.
3:30pm: Start to text my mom, delete it. Text Duckbill instead: "Help me set up a real grown-up budget. Also need recs for health insurance and a basic savings plan. Please make it painless."
DAY TWO
11:00am: Duckbill sends over a clean, beginner-friendly budget setup and links to low-effort savings tools. They also include a side-by-side breakdown of affordable insurance options. No shame. No jargon. No “why didn’t you learn this in school?” energy.
4:00pm: I set everything up in under an hour. It actually felt kind of good? Like I might be… doing this?
DAY FOUR
10:00am: Duckbill sends a reminder to review my budget in two weeks. I feel weirdly proud. Maybe I am the kind of person who auto-transfers money into savings now.
Should I start a Roth IRA next? Duckbill, don’t answer that yet… or wait, can you?
