DAY ONE
6:00pm: I find out an old college friend is flying in for a surprise visit. They land tomorrow. My fridge has LaCroix, mustard, and a single yogurt from Q1. I panic.
8:00pm: Message Duckbill: "Emergency house guest arriving. I need help stocking the place, setting up a guest bed, and making all of this look intentional."
DAY TWO
9:00am: Duckbill confirms a grocery delivery with a guest-friendly spread: snacks, wine, breakfast options. They send a quick setup checklist: fresh towels, spare phone charger, even a water carafe. I’m taking notes.
1:00pm: They offer to schedule a cleaning service and an Uber pickup from the airport. I say yes to both. This is the most competent I’ve felt in months!
DAY THREE
10:00pm: Friend’s here. They’re raving about the “cozy setup” and the cheese board I spent no more than 3 min on after a few TikTok binges. Duckbill, you magnificent illusionist.
Remind me to invite people over more often. Or... remind Duckbill to remind me. Yes, that.
